Extra Capacity with a Quad Axle Dog Trailer
Transport is largely about carrying goods safely, securely and cost-effectively to their intended destination. And a big part of that is being able to carry heavy loads legally, which a quad axle dog trailer can do with great efficiency.
These quad axle semi trailers are exceedingly durable and perfect for carrying heavy loads over long distances. Because we design and manufacture them ourselves, we can supply customised versions that include all the features you need for your specific transport requirements.
Buy a Quad Dog Trailer and Reap the Benefits
Although many companies use tri axle dog trailers for extra load capacity, a four axle version, known as a quad dog, is even better. This generally has two axles at the front and two at the rear, with two of them being powered and the others being non-powered. A quad dog semi trailer, however, has all four axles at the rear with the front end supported by the prime mover truck when in use and by supporting legs when not.
The extra axle allows the weight of the trailer and its load to be more evenly distributed, reducing pressure on the road while providing a significant increase in load capacity, still within legal weight restriction limits. The added axle of a quad dog trailer enables it to carry a much greater payload compared to its tri-axle counterpart, making it a more productive and cost-effective option.
This is a significant increase in capacity and so, even though the four axle version is naturally more expensive to buy and is less fuel efficient due to its greater weight, it does carry a far greater payload and so is much more productive and cost-effective. The ability to carry a greater capacity is improved by the suspension system that adds to the stability and comfort while also reducing downward pressure on road surfaces. Using an air bag suspension system rather than traditional metal springs adds to the versatility and stability of the trailer, especially when fully loaded.
Enhanced Stability and Safety with Quad Dog Trailers
The extra axle and better weight distribution give the trailer more stability so it is less likely to sway or to lose grip on an uneven surface. This is particularly important on long journeys across rough terrain and adds to the safety of the vehicle. For transporting oversized or tall equipment, a low loader trailer offers additional versatility and safety.
When buying a trailer, you need to consider various factors and decide if a quad dog trailer is the best option for you. The extra axles make it far better for heavy loads over long distances and the reliability and durability of our trailers mean you can do this constantly without being let down.
