Drop Deck Trailers
Do you need to transport heavy equipment that is also tall? So tall, in fact, that putting it on a flatbed trailer will mean it exceeds height clearance regulations and will not go under low bridges? If so, the answer to your problem is a drop deck trailer. Read More
A Drop Deck Trailer for Sale for Heavy and Oversized Loads
A drop deck trailer for sale through FWR Australia is perfect for hauling heavy and oversized equipment. And if that equipment is excessively wide as well as tall, then a drop deck widener for sale will also solve that problem due to the main deck being wider than normal.
Flexible Haulage Solutions with Drop Deck and Tilt Trailers
Although similar to a flatbed trailer in some ways, one with a trailer drop axle has two deck levels, with the higher level at the front generally being about one-third to one-quarter of the total length. The main deck is lower than a flatbed (and can also be wider) and so can accommodate taller loads without infringing height clearance regulations.
The complete drop trailer generally measures up to 53 feet (16.2 metres) long by 8.5 feet (2.5 metres) wide and has a payload of up to 32 tonnes, so is capable of carrying very large and heavy loads. Each drop axle trailer is also completely open, with no sides or roof, which would otherwise limit what could be carried. And since we have a number of drop deck with ramps for sale, these trailers are often used to carry large items of plant, such as construction machinery that includes cranes and excavators, which cannot be accommodated on flatbed trailers. A drop deck tilt trailer will also provide a tilting deck that will make loading and unloading a simple task.
In addition to drop deck trailers, we offer specialised trailers such as the Super Tilt trailer and low loader trailer for carrying heavy machinery or oversized equipment. The Super Tilt trailer features a hydraulic tilting mechanism for easy loading, while the low loader trailer is ideal for transporting tall or heavy loads due to its lower deck height and enhanced stability.
Since the main deck of a drop deck trailer sits below that of a flatbed, this lowers the centre of gravity and so gives greater stability, leading to a safer drive even with a tall cargo. Some versions feature risers that can bring the main deck up to the level of the top deck, thereby converting it into a flatbed trailer. This gives great flexibility on the type of loads that can be carried and so makes your haulage fleet more versatile.
